Sakra World Hospital has partnered with Tandem Healthcare to develop its second hospital in North Bengaluru—a 500-bed, 6.8 lakh sq. ft facility focused on sustainability and patient-centric design. The Rs 1,000 crore project is set to be completed in 30 months and will feature biophilic architecture, including garden lounges, green balconies, and lake-facing views.

This new hospital will reflect Indo-Japanese architectural values and marks a major infrastructure expansion for Sakra, India’s first 100% FDI tertiary care hospital, operated in collaboration with Japan's Secom Medical System and Toyota Tsusho. The facility will span G+9 floors and deliver advanced medical services such as LINAC, MR-LINAC, Gamma Knife, Brachytherapy, and nuclear medicine. Other specialties include Interventional Neuro and Rehab, Cardiology, and premium maternity services.

Equipped with RFID tracking, paperless systems, modular OTs, air quality monitoring, and pandemic readiness, the facility will combine clinical innovation with intelligent infrastructure. Sustainable elements include an east-west orientation, slanted GFRC panels for light and privacy, green rooftops, and energy-efficient materials like low-e glazing and ACP cladding.

Tandem’s design aims to promote healing through Japanese-inspired biophilic elements. The hospital targets USGBC LEED Platinum certification and aligns with the UN’s sustainable infrastructure classification. Leaders from both Sakra and Tandem emphasized the project's commitment to merging compassionate care, technological advancement, and eco-conscious design.

This facility will complement Sakra’s existing 350-bed hospital in Marathahalli, significantly expanding its healthcare presence in the region.
